Policy Breakfast and Kick-off

HLC’s annual policy briefing will include an update on state-level legislation and our organization’s current work on public land in the County, including case studies from County representatives on successful affordable housing developments on publicly-owned land. Featuring California State Assembly Speaker Pro Tem Kevin Mullin and Eden Housing President, Linda Mandolini.

Kicking Out Homelessness Kickball Tournament

Friday, May 5th, 12:00 – 5:00 p.m.

The Housing Industry Foundation (HIF) is hosting its inaugural fundraising event, the Kicking Out Homelessness Kickball Tournament, to help individuals and families remain in or return to stable housing in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. Local companies will join HIF on the kickball field for an afternoon of play and teamwork, all while raising money to help prevent homelessness in our community.

Brisbane Baylands Tour

Saturday, May 6th, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

A two-hour tour for a behind-the-scenes look at the site and areas not accessible to the public, including the historic Roundhouse, the former railyard and clean fill operations. Learn about the site’s ecology, proposed uses, and plans for open space and sustainable development.

Gateway to Millbrae BART Station Tour: Building the future through public private partnerships.

Sunday, May 7th, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

What is now a BART transit station parking lot will one day be home to a dynamic, transit-oriented development featuring 400 homes, including 80 below-market-rate homes, as well as office, retail, public gathering spaces, with upgrades to multimodal connections. Republic Urban Properties will present the site renderings, summarize the story of public-private partnership, as well as the opportunities and constraints involved in bringing local and regional goals from dream to reality.

HEART Annual Fundraising Reception

Join HEART for a relaxed and fun evening of food, drink, and networking, all while raising money for much-needed critical housing development! The program will include a brief update on HEART’s activities, including our outreach to school districts, by ED Armando Sanchez, and board member and County Superintendent Anne Campbell. HIP Housing’s Annual Luncheon

HIP Housing’s Annual Luncheon will be celebrating its Property Development Program’s 25th anniversary of preserving the community through rejuvenating apartment complexes and maintaining their affordability.  The event will also feature comedian and social justice activist, W. Kamau Bell. Drawing a crowd of over 350 community members, corporate representatives and government officials, the program will focus on celebrating HIP Housing’s successes as a leader in affordable housing, and bringing attention to the drastic need for more affordable housing in our community.
