Major development projects – both market rate housing and commercial or office development — can present both tremendous opportunities and concerns for communities and residents. Community benefits can be realized through development projects that meet real community needs. Examples include affordable housing, transit system and public realm improvements, access to good jobs and economic opportunity, and other community services. This panel brings together a wide range of voices and perspectives — from city staff, elected official and real estate developer — to discuss their experiences in finding the right balance of community benefits associated with new development. Join us to hear about some real-world examples of successful projects and initiatives in and around San Mateo County.
