South San Francisco PUC 158 affordable homes, 642 market-rate homes, on public land, in South San Francisco

Why it Needs Our Support

These 800 homes are less than half a mile to South San Francisco BART and sit on SamTrans bus stops. 158 of the homes will be at deeply affordable levels. The development would be located on a vacant San Francisco Public Utilities Commission site (PUC) between El Camino Real and Mission Road. This would put the proposed development within half a mile to South San Francisco BART, near several grocery stores, and near SamTrans stops. The site is also close to many of South San Francisco’s existing municipal services as well as being directly north of South San Francisco’s proposed Civic Campus. Supporting these quality, affordable homes so close to transit is critical to address displacement and the jobs-housing imbalance in South San Francisco. This unique oppertunity to provide a high number of deeply affordable homes, on public land, can’t be wasted.
