DESCRIPTION:Date: Wednesday\, September 30\, 2026Time: 12:00PM-1:15PMWhere: Zoom \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCalifornia voters have an unprecedented opportunity this November to invest billions into building and preserving affordable housing\, solving homelessness\, and expanding homeownership for the next generation. The Veterans and Affordable Housing Bond Act of 2026 (Proposition 1) places a $11.25 billion bond on this year’s ballot — allowing voters to support affordable housing for lower-income households.Other measures could negatively impact housing. Proposition 43\, the “The Taxpayer Deception Initiative” (our label)\, would require that local ballot measures proposing\, extending\, or increasing special taxes initiated by citizens receive a two-thirds (66.67%) vote to be enacted. If this measure passes\, it will make California the hardest place in the country to raise local revenue for vital public services.On September 30\, advocates from leading affordable housing organizations across the Bay Area will present the facts about Prop 1 and Prop 43\, answer any questions you have about these ballot measures or others\, and invite YOU to get involved to encourage California and Bay Area voters to say YES to funding the future of affordable housing.This session is presented by East Bay Housing Organizations\, Call Marin Home\, Housing Santa Cruz County\, Generation Housing\, Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo County\, SV@Home\, and All Home.
